Joan Wittig Appointed President of IACAET
The International Association for Creative Arts in Education and Therapy (IACAET) is pleased to announce the appointment of Joan Wittig, BC-DMT, LCAT, as the new President of IACAET.
Joan Wittig is an internationally respected leader in the fields of Creative Arts Therapy and Dance Therapy, with longstanding contributions as an educator, clinician, advocate, and organizational leader. She has played an important role in advancing Creative Arts Therapy licensure in New York State and has actively supported international collaboration and professional development across regions, including in China and South Korea. Joan is also a strong advocate for international professional dialogue and global credentialing initiatives.
Joan previously served as Vice President of IACASE, the predecessor organization of IACAET, and has been connected with the development of the organization since its early international formation.
At the same time, IACAET expresses its heartfelt gratitude to Val Huet, who is concluding her role as Honorary President of IACAET. We deeply appreciate her support, guidance, and contribution to the organization and are pleased that she will continue supporting IACAET through dialogue, webinars, publications, and international exchange.
We warmly welcome Joan into this leadership role and look forward to the continued international development of IACAET and its mission to foster intercultural dialogue, collaboration, and global exchange across creative arts therapy, arts in health, education, and embodied practices.
