Event Details

This webinar and book launch is presented by 3 authors and emphasizes the transformative and healing power of play and expressive therapies in working with children, families, and communities in crisis settings internationally. The afternoon begins with a brief presentation of the book as a whole (who are the 7 authors from Switzerland, Italy, USA, UK, and Australia, what are the main topics covered, and what is the common thread of the text) and the introduction of Play Therapy sector. Afterwards, a series of theoretical and visual inputs via images from the authors’ field work will be shared. The participants will be lead to reflect on the need for a process-oriented approach to working in challenging and vulnerable contexts. An approach that involves the largest number of actors on the ground, includes play and expressive therapies at multiple stages and levels of the intervention, and extends beyond the therapy rooms. In the last part of the webinar participants will be involved in activities that include play and movement and stimulate creativity. There will be time for questions.
